Cards
I don't just make greeting card designs.  But my other forms of expression are either already spoken for, less marketable, or impossibly dangerous to ship.  Please enjoy this gallery responsibly.

I could spend ages uploading art to this page, so no matter when you look at this page, it will almost certainly be incomplete.

JMIH Logo

JMIH Logo

Ink on scratchboard, March 2011

This is the official logo of the Joint Meeting of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists, which is a combination of the American Elasmobranch Society, the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists, the Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles, and the Herpetologists' League, the last of which sounds like a super hero group.  (And they're herpetologists, so in some ways it is)

I designed this in response to a logo contest.  While contests can be questionable ways to procure art, I have a fondness for this sort of scientific organization.

Levitation

Levitation
Pen and ink, 2003

This is a scribbly drawing I did for my own amusement, which was later published in Penumbra Art and Literary Journal.  It's intended to have a vaguely Miyazaki-like feeling, at least as far as content.

Monitor lizard pumpkin

Monitor lizard pumpkin
Carved pumpkin, October 2011

I love Halloween.  It's not just that I like candy, I love that it's an art holiday.  Every year I buy the biggest pumpkin that will fit in my car and carve something fun.  A few days later, it's gone, but where would I store it if it weren't?

The Cathedral of Notre Bun ablaze

The Cathedral of Notre Bun

Cardboard, tissue, matches, April 2010

This is a cardboard replica of the Cathedral of Notre Dame, made to scale for marshmallow bunnies. (It was about five and a half feet long)  It was loaded with thousands of matches.  It took more than 300 hours to make.  After lighting, it burned to the ground in about 5 minutes, but it was beautiful while it did.

Looking through the Porthole

Here's Lookin' at You, Squid
India ink and watercolor with digital editing, 2012

This is a T-shirt design submitted to Threadless.com.  It wasn't chosen for bulk printing, but it is available to be printed on demand at kevinlwang.threadless.com.
