California newts (Taricha torosa) live in coastal forests and emerge in
the spring from their winter hiding places. In some areas they can be
easily found as they slowly crawl to the nearest creek to breed,
confident against most predation due to their extreme toxicity. When
they reach the water the males' granular skin smooths out and their tail
flattens for better swimming, a process which reverses itself each year
when the newts return to land. They are estimated to live for 20
years.
This is an 8.5" x 5.5" greeting card. It's lovingly
printed in glorious color by minimum wage copy-shop employees onto FSC
certified 20% recycled Ultra Bright White cardstock from a high quality
scan of my original art, then hand-folded by me.
The card is blank inside, making it usable for any occasion, especially amphibian-related events.
Includes an appropriately sized white envelope. |
